What is a Professional Engineer
In some countries such as Australia you would be considered a Professional once you obtained a Bachelors degree and in other countries there are further requirements. Commonly a graduate Engineer will need some work experience and then be expected to pass an exam to demonstrate their expertise. At this point you can then apply for a Professional Engineering licence (sometimes called Chartered Engineering status).
The term professional however, is used quite loosely in our modern culture and is applied to other fields that normally don’t fit the criteria of a profession (i.e. sales).
