What is Pharmaceutical Engineering
Pharmaceutical Engineering deals with the safe and efficient manufacturing of products for the pharmaceutical industry. The pharmaceutical industry prepares and distributes a wide variety of drugs and medicines for society.
Any Engineers working within the pharmaceutical industry are therefore classified as Pharmaceutical Engineers. Generally, they are used in project and sales roles where they have expert knowledge of the products they are selling. They may also be involved in the design and supervision of the packaging and daily operations of a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility.
Pharmaceutical Engineering is not a disciplines offered by universities and most Pharmaceutical Engineers will have studied Mechanical or Electrical Engineering at University prior to commencing work in this field.
